Regular meeting #116 report 2011/08/24
In English session, the 1st speech is held by Toastmaster N. The speech title was Å´ay NO?
The speech started with very very big voice, which was very catchy!!
The speech taught us that Å´ay NO is very important to protect ourselves and accordingly it is also important for our life.
The 2nd speaker in English session was Toastmaster I. The speech title was űhoto
The speaker used many photos of Switzerland and Peru. With these visual aids, audience understood that our memories are often tied with scene (photo) in our brain, and those memories improve our quality of life.
Toastmaster O, congratulations on winning best speaker award!
After the speeches, Toastmaster O and Toastmaster M gave very positive evaluations to each speaker.
The ultimate goal of evaluations is to help improvements of speakers. This goal is achieved not only by pointing out a fault but also motivating speakers so that they can learn by doing more. In this means, both evaluators did a great job.
As a result of all the participant effort, the meeting was enjoyable and successfully done. I really appreciate this educational valuable time. IÃÎ looking forward to having the next meeting next week!
TM/General evaluator TM M
The 115th meeting started with cheerful opening address by President M. It was announced that we would host both of Area 31 and Division C English Evaluation Contests held in this fall. As the two different level contests are going to be held on the same day, it will be a big day for all of us.
Today's MC was TM M. Although this was the first time for him to take this role, he was very calm and smart throughout the meeting, for instance time-management, brief comments at introducing each speaker and after each speech.
Table Topics session was conducted by TM Y who is Area Governor and Past President. Under the theme "summer", four speakers were appointed to make impromptu speeches. The last speaker TM O spoke about his unintentional electricity saving resulting from his broken air conditioner and won the award.
There are two English prepared speech in the first half of the meeting. The first one was TM K's speech prepared in line with the project "Your Body Speaks". He made good use of his height, long legs and arms, and succeeded in describing some baseball scenes vividly. The second speaker was TM F whose created character "manager behaving like customer" became popular in the club. His project was "The Folk Tale" of the advanced manual "Story telling". Although his was based on a common moral story, the story itself, which was a conversation of a demanding man and a fairy, was original and very him.
We had a Japanese prepared speech and a special speech in the second half of the meeting. Please check them out in the meeting report in Japanese version.
Regular meeting #114 was started with greeting of our new president, TM Mi.
TodayÃÔ TMOE (Toastmaster of Evening) was past immediate president, TM Yo.
The meeting was very relaxing and went smooth.
TodayÃÔ Word of the Evening was Åovely introduced by TM F (Manager). TM F brought a lot laughs because the term in Japanese was Ŭawawii-?!
TodayÃÔ Table topics was conducted by TM Mi.
The answering procedure was like a relay style: She introduced her bad habit, and then, asked the first speaker how to kick her bad habit. After the speech was made, he/she was asked his/her bad habit and next speaker answered how to kick his/her habit? The style was really fresh and advices were also punch in them!
In the speech session, there were 4 speakers today: 2 Japanese and English speakers.
The first Japanese speaker was TM Oga. His speech title could be the longest in our club?! Å¢ hot springs was found while making pond - How to dig a hot springs Ëó. Sometimes we encounter a person who cannot get along with well and tend to avoid him/her, but asking him/her out for a drink and talk deeply makes the relationship better because of discovering good aspects. Very positive and challenging!
The second Japanese speaker was TM Ish, the speech title was Å®oment of truth? She introduced about ÅÉow to grab the heart of customers and make them enthusiastic fan of the company with a couple of great examples. My heart was also grabbed after hearing the speech and that was really Å®oment of truth?
The third English speaker was TM Su, the speech title was Ūntroduction of myself? She is the first female member to become our club since this term. Her first speech was about how her parents named her name. She also used The Word of the Evening Åovely? The speech was enjoyable and she got a lot of laugh from the audience.
The last English speaker was TM Oha, the speech title was Ťhinese Wedding Reception? She spoke about her cousinÃÔ wedding held 3 years ago in China and used overhead projector very smoothly. She also brought the wedding photo book and we had a look. It was so fantastic because the bride and groom looked very happy!
In the evaluation session, encouraging messages were made together with warm and cheerful words.
TodayÃÔ meeting was very relaxing, yet, each session was finished on time and even finished 10
minutes earlier. Thank you TM Yo for your smooth organization!
I very much appreciate the fun and educational time spent together with the members and guest who came to the meeting. Looking forward to seeing you in the next meeting on Aug 10!
TM Mu, General Evaluator
Regular meeting #110 was started with greeting of our President, TM Y. (Today He was natural because of no alcohol.)
Today's TMOE (Toastmaster of the Evening) was TM N.
She said, "Let's have the guest conscious meeting!".
The meeting started from English session.
Today's Word of the Evening was "Emotional Attachment or Attitude" introduced by TM O.
Many people used this keyword.
Guest TM O(TM K?)was Table Topic Master for today.
The topic was about "Comic".
"Please introduce your favorite comic to the people from foreign countries?" or
"Please explain your favorite American comic with gesture?"
Those high level combination questions were a bit difficult even for regular Toast Masters.
First English prepared speech was TM C's speech.
He introduce his tactics, how to survive in the packed train.
He also explained his "Plan B" and everyone became ready for the dairy battle in the packed train.
Second English speech was made by TM Y.
His speech was about learning Chinese.
He recommended one Chinese textbook with his fluent Chinese.
Everyone will(may) buy the book.
After the coffee break, Japanese session was started.
Today's one point lesson was made by TM Y. The lesson was about emotive speech.
She passionately talked, "Message is very important!!".
I swear "I never do a message-less speech."
1st Japanese prepared speech was TM N's speech.
This was his first speech, but he did ad-lib speech.
His speech style was very unique and I learned a lot by his speech.
2nd Japanese speech was made by TM S.
She introduced English book in Japanese and many visual figures.
That made the difficult topic easier to understand.
All speakers did a variety of speeches!
Many guests were coming even though it was a hot day.

Regular meeting #108 was started with cheerful greeting of our President, TM Y.
Today's TMOE (Toastmaster of the Evening) was first timer, TM A.
His great time management skill made the meeting very relaxing and comfortable.
Today's Word of the Evening was "Continue" introduced by TM Oha.
The word expressed her warm feeling towards devastated area of Tohoku.
TM Saku was in charged of Today's one point lesson for the first time.
Our club has a wide range of advanced manuals and only members can borrow them!
Why not joining our club and enjoying this learning environment?
Table topics master was first timer, TM Kino.
He gave 3 interesting questions and all the speakers enjoyed answering them.
Today, we had 3 speeches (2 English and 1 Japanese)
TM Oka made his first English speech introducing himself with magic. Wow!
TM M-ki showed us lessons learned from communication about complimenting hairstyle.
His English role-play speech was very comical.
TM Ike's Japanese speech was about Snakeman show, how to become successful in life.
He also did role-play and made us laugh a lot.
All 3 speeches were very unique and interesting!
At the end, President TM Y conducted the next term officers' election.
7 candidates made enthusiastic speeches and they were chosen as officers.
Congratulations!!
The meeting room was full of members and guests, and we had a lot of fun today :)
